It's no fun when the magic doesn't work.

There are several reasons that a MagicPhoto might not play reliably or at all. Here's what they are and what to do about them.

  1. The software that looks for photos simply can't pick out the photo you selected. It's best to use distinct images with some sort of object in the picture, and a background color that will somewhat contrast against your photo frame or wall.
  2. Lighting is important. MagicPhotos may not work well when it's a bit dark in your house, especially darker photos. The only way to resolve this issue is to increase the light available (which isn't always possible.)
  3. Get closer. The software needs a certain amount of information to be able to determine if it's looking at the right thing or not. Wide shots may not provide enough information to find your photo.
